Biography
Ian Paterson was born and educated in Dundee, Scotland, and has had a distinguished academic career at Cambridge and beyond:
- University of St Andrews, BSc Hons I, 1972-76.
- University of Cambridge, PhD, 1976-79; Junior Research Fellow, 1979.
- Columbia University, New York, NATO/SERC Postdoctoral Research Fellow, 1979-80.
- University College London, Lecturer in Chemistry, 1980-83.
- University of Cambridge: Lecturer 1983-97; Reader in Organic Chemistry 1997-2001; Professor of Organic Chemistry 2001 to present.
